The EIT Food Seedbed Programme supports aspiring entrepreneurs, entrepreneurial academics, and newly formed startups presenting one of EIT Food’s Focus Areas: Sustainable Agriculture, Sustainable Aquaculture, Alternative Proteins, Digital Traceability, Circular Food Systems, Targeted Nutrition. The aim of the programme is to transform the innovative ideas in the agri-food sector into market-validated business propositions.
- Linum – according to a recently implemented law, disposable plastic materials, such as plates and cups, can no longer be sold in the EU. We came up with a solution for re-using waste and giving it new life and quality. Our solution is a disposable and biodegradable product made of flax seed, hence the name “Linum”.
- FortiFruits plans to produce extracts with enhanced antioxidant content to be the premier extract producer in a niche market. Enriched fruit extracts are natural products which are part of the production of natural food. New fruit extracts make it possible to offer functional food that will be dedicated to specific consumers instead of using drugs and dietary supplements.
- MEGenzymes – around 90 million elders in the EU might be suffering from reduced efficiency of the digestive system. Our fruit and vegetable-based products with active digestive enzymes meet the most urgent nutritional needs of seniors, emphasize the natural flavor of dishes and do not require special preparation. Enzymatically active fruit and vegetable supplements will also be an excellent source of vitamins, fiber and antioxidants.
